With the exception of the title and copyright information, there is absolutely no writing in this simple publication designed for children. A picture book playing with, and counting on, education by association. Almost five hundred pages long, the book encourages questions and explanations, educating the ‘reader’ by leaving wide space for interpretation. All photographs are printed full-bleed. The printing quality is poor, as is the paper, but it is exactly this which adds a raw charm to the book. It is quite difficult to find a copy in good condition as, being a child’s book, they have usually been ‘loved’ to bits. I certainly fell in love with this, surprisingly underrated, book at first sight.
