Eugène Atget, Lichtbilder, 1930
Published three years after Atget’s death, this wonderfully-bound book became one of the landmark photography books of its time (although the printing quality of the images themselves was however improved upon in later books on Atget). Each page is made of heavy paper fixed with a thin white strip of cloth. Fold out list of photo captions at the rear pastedown. Published with a print run of 1000 numbered copies simultaneously in German and French language editions (Atget Photographie de Paris) on the occasion of the Atget exhibition in the Weyhe Gallery in New York.
