Denis Darzacq, LA CHUTE, Filigranes Editions, 2007

French photographer Denis Darzacq turns our understanding of gravity and perspective upside down. Like the wonderfully unpretentious book itself, his colour photographs are simple, straight forward, and yet totally refreshing. When I first came across his work I was totally struck by his art. I did think it might be computer manipulation until I watched a documentary film about him on Arte TV. I have been well aware of body photography and the shaping of the human form for many years, but discovering his work was like a fresh breeze through all my previously conceived ideas. Look out for all his other books, they are well worth it.

Filigranes Éditions is a small french publisher who produce wonderful books off the main stream.
