Abisag Tüllmann’s first book Großstadt is an electrifying photographic essay reflecting the repetitive energy of a metropolis. She obviously kept her camera with her at all times and was keenly attentive, recording every facet of life in and around Frankfurt Germany. Her compositions are almost frighteningly packed, with people, places and emotion. Richard Kirn’s text at the beginning and end is practically squeezed out the book by the explosive pressure of the photographs. A real page-turner.
